We sponsor three annual events at which our members can get together, enjoy each others company and show our unified support for our County’s outstanding Sheriff’s Department. The purpose of all fund-raising events and activities is to assist our local Sheriff’s Department and all other law enforcement agencies in the County.

Sheriff's Family Day at Madonna Meadows
Sheriff’s Family Day is a fun community event hosted by the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation (SAFSLO). The event is held annually in September at the Madonna Meadows next to Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo.

The event is free to people of all ages and is intended to entertain and educate the public on the positive role that our local law enforcement and safety personnel play in our community, including the display of their equipment and demonstrations.

Family Day allows attendees the opportunity to participate in different activities and experience first hand the excitement and satisfaction of coming to the aid of others. It offers those who are considering public service as a career the chance to speak with other people who are already doing the job.

And just for Junior Sheriffs (up to age 12), FREE T-shirts, Hots Dogs, and Bike Raffle Tickets.

Annual Meeting/Dinner

May Fun-Raiser
The Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation's membership get-together and fundraising event is held annually on the third Sunday in May.

Your Sheriff, local dignitaries and the Foundation’s board of directors attend, as well as, foundation members and their families. The primary purpose of this fundraiser is to provide additional funding to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement agencies for new equipment, facilities and training to improve on-site response, crime prevention and public information/education. The Foundation greatly appreciates the ongoing hospitality of F. McLintocks and the staff.

Annual Meeting/Dinner
The Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation Annual Meeting/Dinner is for the Board and membership to acknowledge and install new Officers for the coming year and to present recognition awards to our Gold & Silver Sponsors. In addition, this event gives our members and their guests an opportunity to discuss with Sheriff Ian Parkinson the activities of the Sheriff’s Office and other available services. The event takes place annually and is an important part of the representative aspect of the Sheriff's Advisory Foundation.
