Supporting Special Olympics through Law Enforcement

Dear Friends and Supporters,

For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of supporting Special Olympics through the Law Enforcement Torch Run and our annual Tip-A-Cop dinners. That commitment has taken me from local events here in San Luis Obispo County to representing law enforcement as a Guardian of the Flame during the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi and Berlin. Through each of those experiences, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact Special Olympics has on the lives of its athletes, their families, and our community.

Supporting Special Olympics has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. The athletes remind all of us what perseverance, courage, and joy truly look like, and it is an honor to continue supporting an organization that gives so much back to our community.

I would like to personally invite you to join me at one of my Sheriff’s Tables during this year’s Tip-A-Cop Dinner. I hope you’ll consider joining me by hosting a table of family, friends, colleagues, or fellow supporters of the Sheriff’s Office for an evening benefiting an incredible cause.

This year, Tip-A-Cop will be held at Madonna Expo in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday, September 15, with dinner seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and at the Paso Robles Event Center (Fairgrounds) on Wednesday, September 16, with seating at 6:00 p.m. Each Sheriff’s Table seats eight guests for $600 and includes a tri-tip or chicken dinner, sides, dessert, and beverages. Undersheriff Chad Nicholson and I will be trading our badges for aprons as we serve dinner alongside other law enforcement leaders from throughout San Luis Obispo County.

One hundred percent of the proceeds raised stay right here on the Central Coast, helping provide local Special Olympics athletes with opportunities to compete, build confidence, build friendships, and experience the life-changing power of sports.
